For 16 years Burlington has witnessed a self-serving mayor with endless virtue signaling and zero substance

When a politician has been in for a very long time, there are two advantages they have...they have name recognition and they have a track record to go on. However, the track record can go against them if there has been no progress and they are riddled with scandals. In Marianne Ward's case, she has been compromised by developers and has shown only a self-serving character with her international trips. She has not once dealt with the homeless situation in Burlington...on any level. Marianne Ward does nothing but lie and mislead residents. Consider something simple like designating her home as a heritage property once she became mayor.

Virtue signaling at it's best

This is just one of many continual daily posts this mayor puts up on her social media. Over 2 days, 50 takes to get the perfect picture. Sun shining, few people in the background, freshly painted crosswalk, nice breeze and hands to the heart. She was promoting this as her showing inclusivity...here's the thing, we all support inclusivity, but name one thing Marianne Ward has done that is inclusive? Certainly, not hiring a diverse workforce. This mayor is nothing but a virtue signaling phony.

Marianne Ward is all lies when talking about what the city does for homeless in the cold months

You will see in the first part of short video Marianne Ward telling Jason on Your TV, that the city works with motels to house homeless. She also mentioned we have shelters for both men & woman...that is a lie, we do not. Then the second part in different interview, Marianne is telling CTV that a homeless person must get arrested by police to stay somewhere warm for the night. These interviews were within a few weeks of one another. Which is it, motels or jail?? It just depends on who Marianne is talking to.

Mayor Marianne Ward and council are great when it comes to expanding on their international travel.

The mayor of Toronto (Olivia Chow) goes to the UK once and she is criticized for it by big media...our mayor has travelled to Japan TWICE, Netherlands and Washington DC on taxpayer dollar. And she justifies it by suggesting it's to enhance trade or fight tariffs. Let's be clear...these are free vacations paid for by the residents of Burlington. Municipal politicians have NOTHING to do with setting up trade relations. These trips should never have been allowed and all this while we have people living in the streets. As mayor, there will be no more international trips provided by the taxpayer.

This video shows Mayor Marianne Ward giving a presentation at Alinea Land Corporation. Alinea is the developer that has been given the go ahead for the 1200 King Road development. This is a massive development that is now being challenged by CN Rail who has a major industrial freight rail yard immediately adjacent. It could pose health risks for the people who would be living in that community. The real question is, why is Marianne Ward presenting at this developer gala to begin with??
